Starting: (Undefined) Closing: (Undefined) | The Peäch Gallery - Toronto | Presence - By Germano Alfredo Germano Human presence was first found in Africa, its origins can be traced back to the heart of that landmass dating back hundreds of thousands of years. These first humans travelled to every corner of the world and along the way, they transformed, adapted, mixed and changed pigment, physical characteristics and way of life. Nowadays, their presence is everywhere, even in space. This exhibition reflects that human presence for its positive and mostly negative influence on our planet. The standing figures prevalent throughout represent that presence, and its blackness represents the fact that human origin most likely began with black pigment. |
